It was a cold and dreary day in Idaho

This Friday in January was much of what it has been over the last three weeks here, cloudy and dreary. Australian Shepherds probably like this weather. They are herding dogs who push around livestock, sheep, cattle horses, and ducks.

Brownie had herding instincts even though she was half dachshund. A friend of ours who loved dogs would walk Brownie through the apartment complex we lived in. She noticed that Brownie would walk to her right. She would ask the dog “Is this where you want me to be?” You can find out more about Austrailan Shepherds by clicking here.

Hi, I'm Gregory Lamberty. I wrote "For the Love of Our Dog Brownie". Brownie was our dog. She lived eighteen and a half years. My wife Colleen took care of Brownie, trained her and took care of her. Colleen was the one who inspired me to write about Brownie. Colleen's training and love set Brownie apart from other dogs. That was what made her special.
