The Third Installment of Chapter 1 of Volume 2 “For the Love of Our Dog Brownie”
Barking and whining surrounded the runt as the vehicle pulled away from the only home she ever knew. She buried herself in her brother’s fur. Suddenly the vehicle stopped in front of an old red brick building. The gray haired man opened the tailgate and dumped the crates on the sidewalk to the right of a plate glass door. It swung open. The crates were moved though the door, one at a time, onto a wood floor in front of a wood paneled barrier. An older bald man unloaded the puppies along with their mother and placed them in wire boxes which he called kennels. The little runt was reunited with Fluffy, her mother. Fluffy was adopted the following day.
