The First Day of August 2026

Next part of Chapter 1 of Volume 2 of “For the Love of Our Dog Brownie”

Brownie lay down and quickly fell asleep. About the middle of the night, a vivid dream crept into the little dog’s mind. In it she saw a bright white room. The whining sounds of a large white dog with brown markings could be heard. The veiw pulled back revealing the mother and seven tiny puppies. Brownie was the runt. All the little ones struggled to drink their mother’s milk. An atmosphere of doom permeated the entire room. Two men and a woman in the faded background argued with each other. The taller gray haired man screamed the loudest.

The scene shifted from that afternoon in the white room to the day that Brownie no longer needed her mother’s milk. A few days later she and the rest of the litter plus the mom were placed in crates and loaded into the back of a white van.

Published by Brownie's Author

Hi, I'm Gregory Lamberty. I wrote "For the Love of Our Dog Brownie". Brownie was our dog. She lived eighteen and a half years. My wife Colleen took care of Brownie, trained her and took care of her. Colleen was the one who inspired me to write about Brownie. Colleen's training and love set Brownie apart from other dogs. That was what made her special.
