As soon as breakfast was finished, Mom grabbed the van keys.

“Children, meet me in the garage in five minutes.”

“We’ll get there first!” shouted Drew as he and Nathan raced by their brothers and Lauren.

Lauren thought, Boys!

Jack ans Connor the raced past her to join the others in the garage. More boys! Will Mom ever have another girl?” Lauren thought.

Brownie, trapped in the laundy room whined, Im tired of staring at these three walls and the half open door. When will I be free from this place?

Lauren, the last one out, heard the forlorn cry.

I have to free Brownie from that “washing room”, she thought. She’s been punished enough.

Hi, I'm Gregory Lamberty. I wrote "For the Love of Our Dog Brownie". Brownie was our dog. She lived eighteen and a half years. My wife Colleen took care of Brownie, trained her and took care of her. Colleen was the one who inspired me to write about Brownie. Colleen's training and love set Brownie apart from other dogs. That was what made her special.
