That very moment, Lauren hatched a plan to free her dog. While she and her brothers waited, Lauren said to herself,” Where’s Mom?” Then she heard the door to the garage open and slam shut. There she was. Mom a button on the automatic card door opener unlocking all the doors of the vehicle.

“Children take your seats,” she said.

Lauren, itching to speak privately with Mom, aimed for the front passenger seat. She snuck past Drew and snagged it.

“Rats,” he said to himself.

“Slow poke,” Lauren whispered.

Drew just glared at his sister. He had to take the seat next to Nathan. Mom pushed the garage opener and waited for the door to rise.

Lauren cleared her throat, “Mom, when can we free Brownie from the laundry room?”

“What?” Mom asked.

Hi, I'm Gregory Lamberty. I wrote "For the Love of Our Dog Brownie". Brownie was our dog. She lived eighteen and a half years. My wife Colleen took care of Brownie, trained her and took care of her. Colleen was the one who inspired me to write about Brownie. Colleen's training and love set Brownie apart from other dogs. That was what made her special.
