Lauren was happy that Mom had given it thought and offered the use of the backyard, but she also spied a small problem. “I need to have her free in the kitchen to train her to stay off the hallway carpet.”

Mom smiled, “You can get a strip of carpet and place it near the Bennetts’ fence and train her with that. There’s carpeting on a shelf in the garage under boxes of Christmas decorations. I’ll get it for you later.

Hi, I'm Gregory Lamberty. I wrote "For the Love of Our Dog Brownie". Brownie was our dog. She lived eighteen and a half years. My wife Colleen took care of Brownie, trained her and took care of her. Colleen was the one who inspired me to write about Brownie. Colleen's training and love set Brownie apart from other dogs. That was what made her special.
