“Brownie’s your dog!” Jack protested. “I only agreed to be your assistant to help you to teach Brownie to walk in a straight line.”
Lauren immediately appealed to her mother. “Mom, I need Jack to help me, and he doesn’t wand to help. Come on, Jack! You promised!”
“Did you promise?” Mom asked.
“Yeah, but if I knew I’d be dragged into this carpet and laundry room business I would have said no.”
